Tech heads to Waco for Big 12 Fall Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders women's tennis team will conclude their fall season with a trip to Waco, Texas for the Big 12 Fall Individual Championships at the Hurd Tennis Center on Nov. 9-12. Tech is sending Andreea Lila, Arina Oreshchenkova, Mariya Polishchuk, Jermine Sherif, Camryn Stepp and Cristina Tiglea to the tournament.
These Lady Raiders last competed at the ITA Texas Regional tournament in mid-October. The duo of Polishchuk and Tiglea earned a semifinals appearance in doubles, while the pairing of Lila and Yekaterina Dmitrichenko made it to the consolation semifinals.
Sherif advanced out of qualifying singles, then went on a run to the Round of 16 highlighted by her first ranked victory of her career against No. 121 Gianna Pielet (Texas A&M). Both Tiglea and Lila also made a Round of 16 run in singles as the Lady Raiders totaled 29 total victories at the tournament.
