Tech hosts WVU for two matches

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders are hosting two matches against the West Virginia Mountaineers this week at the United Supermarkets Arena. First, Tech and WVU play on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m., then again the next day on Friday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
As a team, the Red Raiders total 1,014 kills (11.3 k/s), 927 assists, 92 aces, 1,334 digs (14.9 d/s) and 211.0 blocks. Tech is led offensively by graduate Caitlin Dugan, who is having an impressive final season. Dugan has a team-best 278 kills and 312.5 points and is also just 12 kills away from 1,000 in her career.
Reese Rhodes leads the Red Raiders with 575 assists, Madison Gilliland posts a team-high .246 hitting clip and both Abby Dickinson and Kate Hansen have a team-best 15 aces each. Defensively, Hansen also leads with 99.0 total blocks and libero Maddie Correa tallied 322 digs on the season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Tech leads the all-time series against West Virginia, 15-9. The Red Raiders have won eight of the last nine matches against the Mountaineers and are on a four-match win streak as Tech won both matchups versus WVU last season. West Virginia is 9-17 overall and 2-11 in the Big 12 this year. Some key wins for WVU come against Charleston, Cincinnati and TCU, while they have dropped matches to Kansas, Texas, UCF, Houston and Iowa State.
The Mountaineers total 1,208 kills (12.9 k/s), 1,098 assists, 109 aces, 1,219 digs (13.0 d/s) and 184.0 blocks. Offensively, Hailey Green leads the team with 355 kills, followed by Bailey Miller with 289. Setter Lauren DeLo is almost at 1,000 assists on the season with 917 and also leads the team with 25 aces. On the defensive side, Camilla Covas leads the team with 349 digs and Maddy McGath has a team-high 61.0 blocks.

Doors open one hour prior to first serve at the Northwest entrance of the United Supermarkets Arena. The clear bag policy is in effect for all Texas Tech Athletics events. Fans can also purchase tickets online or at the arena (NW entrance).
