
Chukwuma claims 200m Tech record Saturday

Today’s 200m race for Chukwuma was her third of the season
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team capped off its weekend highlighted by Rosemary Chukwuma claiming the school 200m record Saturday afternoon inside the Sports Performance Center.
Tech also completed its two other meets in Albuquerque and Nashville.
Meanwhile, three women's milers witnessed a trio of PBs. Hannah Spears placed fourth (5:03.64), Melanie Jacobs eighth (5:12.04) and Adele Clarke 12th (5:13.69).
Some notables in Albuquerque were Denim Rogers winning the 60m hurdles at 7.72 (PB). Chris Welch went 16.23 (53-3) (SB) in the triple jump which would put him seventh in the country.
Over in Nashville, Halena Rahmaan and Edward Rush secured PB times in the 3000. Rahmaan clocked in at 9:41.11 as Rush crossed in at 8:04.44.

Chukwuma continued to shine in her stellar season thus far, posting a 22.82 (facility record) in the 200m. The school record had been held since 2015 by Cierra White (22.90). Chukwuma now owns Tech's 60m and 200m indoor marks as well as the outdoor 100m and 200m. Her time today put her at No. 5 in the country.That's it for the weekend! Zach Bradford tried to leap a new personal best (PB) going for a height of 5.85m (19-2 ¼) but came up just short. He finished his day at 5.76m (18-10 ¾), tying his third all-time school mark. Kyle Stifflemire registered a season best (SB) height of 5.21m (17-1). Olivia Cade paced the women's side with a PB height of 4.01m (13-1 ¾).2??2??.8??2??
