Bradford now owns two indoor and outdoor Big 12 titles

LUBBOCK, Texas – Zach Bradford earned his fourth overall Big 12 pole vault title was the men's sprints crew put on a show Friday evening inside the Sports Performance Center.

Bradford claimed the lone finals title for Tech Friday evening. He started his run at 5.43m (17-9.75) and ended clearing on his second attempt at 5.63m (18-5.50). He becomes the back-to-back champion after claiming the title in 2022 in Ames, Iowa.

Over on the women's side, Olivia Cade equaled her PB of 4.19m (13-9) in the pole vault to place second overall.

In the men's 60m hurdles, five Red Raiders punched their tickets to Saturday's final, led by Caleb Dean at 6.62, tying his No. 3 all-time Tech mark. Denim Rogers (7.73), Antoine Andrews (7.75) received the heat auto bids. A pair of freshmen in Miquel Dingle (7.97) and Samuel Alves (7.98) nabbed the final two spots for the eight-man final.

Meanwhile, in the 60m dash, six Red Raiders claimed a lane for Saturday's final, paced by Terrence Jones who ran a blistering 6.46 (meet record) in what was his season opener. He tied the collegiate record last year of 6.45 in his second career 60m race. Jones has not raced since the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Dean (6.58) ran the second-best time as Courtney Lindsey (6.58, 4^th), Don'Dre Swint (6.59, 5^th), Nylo Clarke (6.62, 7^th) and Adam Clayton (6.63, 8^th) rounded out the top-8.

Rogers kicked off day one for the Red Raiders competing in the heptathlon. He secured two lifetime best going 6.83 in the 60m dash and 13.09m (42-11.50) in the shot put. He ended the day in second, scoring 3,231 points and goes into tomorrow's events 159 points behind Oklahoma's Kristo Simulask.

Notables

Jacob Mechler placed third in the weight throw with a PB toss of 21.45m (70-4.50) as Konner Wood placed 8^th at 18.70m (61-4.25).
Chris Welch scored 7^th in the long jump at 7.33m (24-0.75).
Pole Vaulters Logan Fraley and Kyle Stifflemire topped put at 5.23m (17-1.75) to finish 7^th and 8^th.
Rosemary Chukwuma punched to ticket to the finals in both the 60m and 200m.
Demisha Roswell booked a finals lane in both the 6m hurdles and 60m dash.
Courtney Lindsey ran a 20.32 200m prelim time, claiming the Tech No. 4 all-time mark in the event.
The men's DMR team of Paul Sherrill, Oskar Edlund, Marco Vilca and EJ Rush capped off the night for Tech coming in 3^rd at 9:48.55.
Sylvia Schulz (1:19.99, PB, lowered her school record) and Lexye Price (1:22.01) each qualified for Saturday's 600yd final. Edlund (1:09.71, PB) also did so for the men.
Malin Smith finished 6^th in the weight throw (19.05m | 62-6, PB).
Halena Rahmaan ran a time of 2:48.99 for a finals spot Saturday.
Marco Vilca (1:49.33) and Fanny Arendt (2:09.78) each secured 800m finals lanes.
