Tech scored the second-most points in program history

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men scored 159 points, 81 alone from the 60m, 200m and 60m hurdles to capture its third Big 12 indoor title in program history (2018, 2019), Saturday evening inside the Sports Performance Center.

Tech entered the Championship Saturday with 28 points – that all began to change just after 2 p.m. In the 60m hurdles, Caleb Dean exploded out of the blocks running to a tune of 7.52, a new Tech record. Freshman Antoine Andrews, who set the record a few weeks ago, placed second at 7.59 – original school record before Dean tonight.

Meanwhile, heptathlete Denim Rogers secured 4^th running a 7.77. He would go onto to finish 2^nd in the heptathlon, scoring 5,827 points. Miquel Dingle – a 17-year-old freshman who signed with Texas Tech football and enrolled January – rounded out the top-4 with a time of 7.85. Another freshman in Samuel Alves scored 6^th, going 8.28.

The 60m dash saw the Red Raiders go 1-2-3-4-7-8, led by Terrence Jones, who ran a 6.48. Don'Dre Swint posted a 6.57, Dean was back at it going 6.58 and Courtney Lindsey fired off a 6.59. Adam Clayton (6.65) and Nylo Clarke (6.74) rounded out the scoring.

Following the 60m, Lindsey capped off his already stellar weekend dropping a time of 20.13 in the 200m for first. The indoor time is 4^th in American history and 6^th all-time on the world list. As of tonight, it leads the NCAA.

Tech also got huge points from the field section as Chris Welch took the triple jump title on his final leap, going 16.19m (53-1.50). Omamuyovwi Erhire secured third going 16.01m (52-6.50). Erhire also placed 3^rd in the high jump at 2.18m (7-1.75), same as Kaithon McDonald.

Notables

Field Gatlin and Malin Smith finished 6^th and 7^th, respectively.
In her first meet as a Red Raider, Anne-Suzanna Fosther-Katta took home the triple jump title going 13.76m (45-1.75). Onaara Obamuwagun finished 2^nd at 13.54m (44-5.25).
Demisha Roswell secured the 60m hurdles crown with a time of 8.04. Freshman Naomi Krebs finished 7^th (8.39).
Rosemary Chukwuma placed 2^nd in the 60m (7.17) while taking 3^rd in the 200m (22.68) – lowered her school record.
Sylvia Schulz(1:20.06) and Oskar Edlund (1:08.65) each finished 3^rd in the 600yd.
Halena Rahmaan lowered her school record she set last week in the 1000m to 2:48.80 taking 2^nd.
The women's 4x400 of Nayanna Dubarry-Gay, Zarie Dumas, Schulz and Le-Taija Jackson clocked in at 3:34.71 for 2^nd.
