Tech owns two national top times in the 60m and 200m
NEW ORLEANS, La. – In the newest edition of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings released Tuesday afternoon, the Texas Tech men fell one spot to No. 4 while the women moved up one spot to No. 13.
It's the first time this season the men fall out of the top-3.
Saturday evening, the Tech men captured their third overall Big 12 indoor title and first since 2019, scoring 159 points, crowing five individual champions. Overall, the Red Raiders own two national leading marks in Terrence Jones (60m) and Courtney Lindsey (200m).
Jones was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week as he ran a 60m 6.46 in the prelims – the fourth-fastest all-time collegiate time. He is the co-owner of the fastest time in collegiate history, which he set last year at 6.45.
Tech will have the week off before heading to Albuquerque for the NCAA Indoor Championships Mar. 10-11.
