Bradford broke the school record in his second outdoor meet as a Red Raider
Competing in his first real meet outdoors – last week's meet was moved indoors due to weather – Bradford secured five top-10 Tech marks Saturday afternoon. He surpassed Tech's 2019 school record set by Brandon Bray on his fifth height, 5.71m (18-8 ¾). Bradford and SFA's Brandon Ellis would battle it out as they each ended their day clearing 5.86m (19- 2 ¾) but Bradford would finish second due to more misses on that mark. Both attempted 5.91m (19-4 ¾) before bowing out. Saturday's mark becomes a new outdoor PB for Bradford.
On the sprints side, Jones and Lindsey put on a show in the 200m, sweeping the collegiate field in first and second. Jones ran the fastest time in the world up to this point as he clocked in at 20.05 (2.0). On top of it being his season opener, it was also the first time he had run a 200m since May of 2021. His time was also a new Texas Relays meet record. The time stands No. 2 now in his native country of Bahamas and No. 5 in Tech history.?? SCHOOL RECORD ??
