
Red Raiders wrap up Arizona trip

Tech continues its road stretch next week sending groups to California, Florida and Oklahoma
TUCSON, Ariz.– Texas Tech track & field concluded its one-day meet, the Jim Click Shootout, Saturday evening at Drachman Stadium.
The afternoon began with a strong showing in the women's discus and men's hammer throw. Malin Smith nabbed a new PB on her fourth toss going 57.84m (189-9) as she claimed first overall by more than eight feet. The mark moves her to No. 7 in the country.
In the women's pole vault, Ryleigh Redding and Sarah Tackitt finished second and third, respectively. They each cleared 3.90m (12-9 ½). Zach Bradford paced the men's side coming away in first with a clearance of 5.50m (18-0 ½).
Devin Roberson in the discus finished second as he launched a mark of 57.24m (187-9).
In just one heat of the men's 110 hurdles, freshman Samuel Alves notched a new PB time 14.11 (0.8) to come in third. Staying on the track, Lexye Price placed second overall in the 400 hurdles with a SB time of 59.87. Michaela Lewis debuted in the 800, this outdoor, running a 2:10.47 to finish third overall.
Texas Tech will be split all over the country next week going to Florida, California and Oklahoma.
