For Dean, Friday's 400h race was only the second of his career as a Red Raider – he debuted in the event for TTU a few weeks ago at the Texas Relays only running the semifinal. The Maryland native posted a time of 48.47 to be crowned the overall champion. On top of the school record, Dean posted a world and NCAA leading time and becomes the fourth Red Raider ever to post a sub-49 time. Norman Grimes' time of 48.68 stood atop the list since July of 2019 as he set it at the USA Championships. Both school records in the 400 hurdles go down today ????????

Meanwhile, it was about three weeks ago that Schulz became the No. 2 all-time event performer for Tech when she posted a 57.22 at the Masked Rider Open. This time around, Schulz gutted out a 57.04 to sit atop the list. The time was 13thoverall in a very competitive field and 10th overall in the collegiate field. The previous school record (57.14) was set by Sandra Iwunze back in May in 2008 at the Big 12 Championships.Tom Jones - men's 400H
