
Red Raiders conclude Michael Johnson Invite

Tech now returns home next weekend after a month traveling
WACO, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up the Michael Johnson Invitational at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium Saturday evening. On top of this meet, several throwers also competed at West Texas A&M in the Buffalo Invitational.
One of the highlights in Waco included the Tech hurdlers filling up lanes in the finals. On the men's side alone, a trio of Red Raiders were represented, led by Caleb Dean placing second. Dean hit a PB time of 13.91 (-0.5) in the prelims to mark his event debut as a Red Raider. He then lowered that time in the finals clocking in at 13.50 (1.3). That time put him No. 9 all-time for TTU.
Meanwhile, Taylor Rooney finished third (13.79) as Antoine Andrews placed fifth (13.85). All three Red Raiders won their prelim heats.
On the women's side, Demisha Roswell led the group with a second-place outing. She clocked in a SB 12.84 (1.1), going sub-13 for the first time this season. The time gives her the No. 4 mark all-time for TTU, making her the owner of all top-5 times. Naomi Krebs was the second Red Raider in the final placing seventh with a PB time of 13.31. She lowered her previous PB time of 13.47 which was registered in the prelims.
The women's 4x100 team of Serena Clark, Rosemary Chukwuma, Roswell and Adriane Nwonumah combined for a time of 43.71 – tied No. 7 all-time for Tech.
Omamuyovwi Erhire made his outdoor debut in the high jump. He cleared 2.15m (7-0 ½) to take first. He bowed of the competition seeking a PB at 2.24m (7-4 ¼).
Timothy Gregg highlighted the men's 800 group with a new PB time of 1:51.93. He entered the weekend with a time of 1:57.20. Fanny Arendt paced the women coming in second overall (2:07.85).
West Texas A&M
Devin Roberson and Konner Wood registered new PB marks in the discus. Roberson heaved it 59.66m (195-9) on his final throw to solidify his win. Wood finished third at 51.68m (169-7). Malin Smith claimed the victory for the women ash she tossed it 55.11m (180-10).
