Tech makes anticipated return to NCAA Championships

The Red Raiders made the Championships for the first time since 2017
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – It all comes down to this.
After a long season that began way back in the first week of September, the Texas Tech women's golf program is staring down the final week of its season, as the NCAA Championships begin Friday morning at Grayhawk Golf Club in sunny Scottsdale.
Making an appearance at the national tournament for the first time since 2017, the Red Raiders will look to advance to the match play portion of the NCAA Championships for just the second time in school history. Tech advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2015, where they fell to Duke 4-1 at the Concession Golf Club in Florida.
In total, 30 teams (top-five finishers from each regional) and six individuals (top-finisher from a non-qualifying team from each regional) have descended upon the desert for this years tournament. Each team is guaranteed to play through Sunday where the field will be trimmed from 30 to 15 teams.
Once the 15 teams are determined, the fourth and final round will begin on Monday, with the top-eight scores from the four rounds advancing to the match play portion of the championships.
Those eight teams will be seeded (one-though-eight) depending on where they finished and will play the first match play round on Tuesday morning. The four winners from Tuesday's morning session of match play will advance to the semifinals later Tuesday afternoon.
The two semifinalist winners will then meet on Wednesday (May 24) for the team title.
Golf Channel will pick up live coverage on Monday's fourth and final round, and will have live coverage of all three rounds of match play.
Tech is paired with Georgia and Michigan State on Friday morning and will tee off from hole 10 at 9:00 a.m. (CT).
