Big 12 announces conference matrix

LUBBOCK, Texas – Pieces of the scheduling puzzle for Texas Tech were revealed on Thursday with the Big 12 announcing its matrix for the 2023-24 men's basketball season. Big 12 teams are shifting away from the traditional home-and-away series with the addition to Houston, Cincinnati, BYU and UCF to the conference. With the additions, men's basketball programs will now play five Big 12 opponents twice, then play the other eight conference opponents once, for a total of 18 Conference games.

According to the Big 12, opponents were selected based on a combination of geography, historical results and a poll of the coaches to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitive balance. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.

Tickets for home Big 12 games at Texas Tech will go on sale in December and will be made available first to Red Raider Club Members and Red Raider Basketball season ticket holders through a special pre-sale. More information about specific on-sale dates will be emailed out by the Texas Tech Ticket Office later this fall.
