Tech finishes tied for sixth at Sahalee

In a field that featured three top-10 teams and 10 top-25 teams the Red Raiders finished at +19 for the Sahalee Players Championship
SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- The No. 17 ranked Texas Tech men's golf program tied for sixth in arguably the most competitive tournament this fall. After 54 holes in three rounds, the Red Raiders carded a score of +19. 
The Sahalee Players Championship featured three top-10 teams and 10 top-25 teams in the Preseason Bushnell Coaches Poll. Tech had an outstanding first two rounds yesterday, scoring 290 (first) and 287 (second) finishing at +1. 
In the third round the Red Raiders recorded a 306 (+18) to slot into a tie for sixth.  Tyran Snyders led the Red Raiders this weekend ending up in a tie for 14th place. Snyders followed his second round 67 (-5) with a round of 75 on Sunday. Â
Junior Calum Scott battled all day, using a final round 76 to finish tied for 27th place.  Snyders and Scott were the lone two Red Raiders to finish inside the top-30.  
No. 9 Illinois used three consistent rounds to finish the week at one-under par to take home the team title. The Ilini were the only team to finish the weekend under par.  
No. 2 Arizona State and Preston Summerhays finished second at +7, followed by host Washington (+12) and No. 19 Arizona (+16). The Red Raiders and No. 11 Texas ended up tied at +19. Â
No. 16 Oklahoma State (+22), No. 7 Stanford (+33), No. 25 Wake Forest (+41), No. 15 Pepperdine (+47) and USC (+60) rounded out the 12-team field.  The Red Raiders showed out in the super competitive Sahalee Players Championship this weekend to close out the opening tournament for the fall 2023 season. Â

The Red Raiders will head to Albuquerque, N.M. to participate in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate (Sept. 25-26).
