Lady Raiders welcome Kansas for Saturday contest

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders are back at home as they host the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, January 5 at 2 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas Tech suffered its first loss in conference play after falling to the No. 10-ranked Texas Longhorns. With this loss, the Lady Raiders moved to 12-3 on the year and 1-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Bailey Maupin leads the Lady Raiders in scoring with 15.7 points per game, followed by Jasmine Shavers with 14.5 and Kilah Freelon with 9.3. Freelon also leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game with Jordyn Merritt right behind totaling 5.1. Maupin tallies a team-high 58 assists and Shavers boats a team-best 25 steals, while Merritt leads with 15 blocks.
As a team, the Lady Raiders are scoring 71.8 points per game while holding opponents to 57.5 points and a .393 field goal percentage. Tech is shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from the three, while also totaling 74.1 percentage from the free throw line. The Lady Raiders are averaging 37.1 rebounds per game and 14.5 assists per game.
The team ranks 29th in the NCAA in 3-point percentage defense, holding opponents to just a 25.6 percentage from behind the arc.
