HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Red Raiders weren't able to generate much consistent offense in the first set, having 10 kills and 10 errors as the Bears block proved to be formattable as they finished with 14.0. Baylor hit .286 in the set led by 2023 Big 12 First Team member Elise McGhee who finished the match with 15 kills and five blocks. The Bears took the set 25-17, but both teams put up a fight as 10 ties and four lead changes took place.
In set two, Tech found more of a groove on offense hitting to the tune of .212 thanks to 12 kills. However, the Bears raised them by hitting .389 with 17 kills as they took the set 25-18 to go up 2-0.
The Bears looked to have things all wrapped up, but the Red Raiders did not make life easy on them as they jumped out to an early 5-3 lead. Tech was able to maintain a slim lead and was up 24-22 before Baylor settled in and went on a 6-2 run to close out the match.
