Red Raiders face No. 9 Oklahoma at Big 12 Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders are facing the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners in the Big 12 Championships on Friday, April 19 at 12 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla. Texas Tech is the 7-seed as they take on 2-seeded Oklahoma in the first round of the tournament.
The Red Raiders (9-14, 1-6 Big 12) are coming off an impressive win against the BYU Cougars to close out the regular season. BYU was able to take a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point, but the Red Raiders retook the momentum after winning all six of their first sets. Tech would get singles victories from Reed Collier, Lorenzo Esquici, Niksa Arsic and Piotr Pawlak to secure the Big 12 win.
In singles, Olle Wallin checks in at No. 48 in the ITA rankings and leads the Red Raiders with 10 dual wins, all at court one. Following Wallin is Collier with nine dual wins and eight at the court two position. In doubles, the duo of Pawlak and Sebastian Abboud are ranked at No. 39 as they lead the team with 13 dual wins, nine of those coming at the top court.
