Tech hosts Senior Day against BYU

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders have one more regular season match as they host the BYU Cougars for Senior Day on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Red Raiders (8-14, 0-6 Big 12) are led in singles by Reed Collier, who totals 16 overall wins on the season. Collier is also second on the team with eight dual singles wins, as seven of those comes at court two. No. 49-ranked Olle Wallin is right behind with 12 overall singles wins but leads the Red Raiders with 10 duals wins, all coming at court one. Both Collier and Wallin also boast a team-best three ranked singles wins apiece.
In doubles, the No. 40-ranked tandem of Sebastian Abboud and Piotr Pawlak are leading Texas Tech with a 13-2 dual record, while holding an impressive 9-2 record at court one. In addition, their two ranked wins lead the team, while they are 2-1 in Big 12 play on the season. The duo of Niksa Arsic and Wallin also have two conference doubles wins together.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The BYU Cougars are heading into Saturday's match with an 11-9 overall record and an 0-6 record in conference. The Cougars are currently on a six-match losing streak after dropping contests to UCF, TCU, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Prior to this, BYU had won 10-straight matches, highlighted by victories against Air Force, Idaho State and Nevada. The Cougars are led in singles by Wally Thayne as he totals 14 dual singles wins so far, with 13 of those coming at court two. Following him is Redd Owen with 12 dual wins, then both Jack Barnett and Zach Fuchs with 10 dual wins each. In doubles, the duo of Barnett and Owen hold a team-best 11-6 record, all at court two, followed by Fuchs and Thayne with a 9-5 record at the top court.
