Red Raiders finish second at Big 12 outdoors

Tech will now have a week off before going to the NCAA West Regionals hosted by Arkansas
WACO, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field teams capped off the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championships at Clyde Hart Track and field Stadium Saturday night. The men scored 105 points to finish second as the women's team scored 96.5 to place third.

The women's team crowned four Big 12 champions – Rosemary Chukwuma (100m), Temitope Adeshina (high jump), Zoe Burleson (discus) and Juliet Cherubet (1500m).
Over on the men's side, Caleb Dean was the highest-placing individual along with Antoine Andrews. Dean placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 48.43, which hit the Olympic standard (48.70) for the event. It was his second race of the season in the event. In the 110m hurdles, Andrews clocked in at 13.63.
The only event that the men's side claimed was the 4x400. The team of Carl Hicks, Charlie Bartholomew, Shaemar Uter and Edlund turned in a time of 3:03.09.
For the women, those that medaled 2-3 included Cherubet (second, 1500m) Anne-Suzanna Fosther-Katta (second, triple jump) and Claire Lowrey (third, high jump). On the men's side, that list included DeVonate Ford (third, 110m hurdles), Oskar Edlund (400m hurdles), Carson Dittel (third, pole vault) and Stacy Brown Jr. (third, triple jump).
