
Tech hits the road for Sunday showdown at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – Fresh off a pair of dominant home wins, the Texas Tech Soccer team will the road this weekend for a Sunday afternoon matinee at RV Utah State.

The Red Raiders and Aggies are meeting for the second straight year. Texas Tech won the last matchup between the two schools, 3-0.

• The Red Raiders closed a two-match homestand in style on Thursday night, defeating St. Bonaventure, 5-0 at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Up just 1-0 at the break, the Red Raiders came out on fire in the second half, scoring four times after recess.

• The Red Raiders four goals included six assists, as the 14 total points in the second half were just one shy of tying the all-time second half program for points in a second half (15).

• In the contest against St. Bonaventure, sophomore Skylar Haase scored the first two goals of her young career, while freshmen Kendall Jones and Peyton Dyess also recorded the first assists of their careers. Dyess had a pair of helpers while Jones recorded the assist on Haase's second goal.

• Youth has been on display thus far for the Red Raiders as seven of the Red Raiders 12 assists and six of their nine goals have been scored by freshmen or sophomores.

• Third-year sophomore Taylor Zdrojewski (3G) leads the way for the Red Raiders followed by sophomore Skylar Haase and freshman Alana Harry. After not scoring over the first 26 games of her career, Zdrojewski has now tallied three goals over the last two games.  The forward is tied for 10th nationally in goals and has scored the third-most goals in the Big 12.

• Despite being shutout in the season opener at Penn State, the Red Raiders still rank sixth in the country in total assists (12) and 15th in the country in goals (9). The Red Raiders are third in the Big 12 in total goals and lead the Big 12 in assists.
