Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational Flashback:
2022 Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational (Hosted at the Colonial Country Club)
- Texas Tech Team Result: 2nd (834, -6)
- Highest players finish: T-8 Ludvig Aberg (207, -3); T-8 Calum Scott (207, -3)
- Texas Tech Team Result: 13th (858, +18)
- Team Leader: T-20 Calum Scott (209, -1)
- The Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational returns to the historic Colonial Country Club after being played at Shady Oaks Country Club in 2023 while the Colonial Country Club underwent renovations.
- The Colonial Country Club was founded in 1936 by businessman Marvin Leonard. The par-70, 7,289-yard course started hosting PGA events in 1941 with the US Open. Since 1946, Colonial Country Club has been home to the longest-running PGA tournament, the Colonial National Invitational, known today as the Charles Schwab Challenge
- Senior Calum Scott, who carded his first eagle of the season last time out, looks to bounce back after finishing tied for 32nd at the Fighting Illini Invitational with a 4-over-par (215). Scott is one of the two Red Raiders in the lineup that have competed before at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational. The senior is the only Red Raiders to have competed at the Colonial Country Club in 2022. In 2022 he finished tied for 8th with a 3-under-par (207) to help the Red Raiders secure a second-place finish.
- Freshman Sean Keeling from Dublin, Ireland is making his debut for the Red Raiders. Keeling is coming fresh off competing in the 2024 Irish Open. Earlier in 2024, the freshman finished fourth at the Spanish International Amateur.
- Senior Charlie DeLong looks to continue the strong form he found in the final two rounds of his last outing with the Red Raiders at the Fighting Illini Invitational. The senior fired a 1-under-par 69 in the second round and a 2-under-par 68 to finish with a 54-hole card of 2-over-par (212) to finish a Red Raider best, tie for 22nd, at the Fighting Illini Invitational.
- Freshman Connor Graham will be making his third start for the Red Raiders. His last start came at the Fighting Illini Invitational where he fired a 1-under par 69 in both the first and second rounds. The freshman finished tied for 32nd place with a 4-over-par 74 and will be looking to bounce back at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational.
- Sophomore Ben Gregg will be making his second start for the Red Raiders at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational. At the 2023 Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational, which was held at the Shady Oaks Country Club, Gregg fired 1-under-par 69 in the third round to finish tied for 52nd with an 8-over-par 218.
- This tournament follows a familiar format for collegiate golf. The best four of the five scores count towards the team's score. 36 holes will be played on the first day with the final 18 being played on the final day. (Mon.-Tue., Sep. 30-Oct. 1). Â
