LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team hosts the three-day Stan Scott Invite and Multi meet Thursday through Saturday at the Sports Performance Center. Cole Omlin, the lone multi athlete for Tech, will compete Thursday and Friday.

The week one USTFCCCA rankings were released Tuesday morning which saw the women's team tabbed No. 2, while the men's team came in at No. 3. For the women, it's the highest indoor ranking in program history.
Last Time Out
Tech hosted the Red Raider Invite last Friday coming away with two notable school records. Shelby Frank threw the weight 22.07m (72-5) breaking a 13-year old record, while Fanny Arendt ran a 800m time of 2:05.27, breaking a 23-year old record.

The defending NCAA indoor triple jump champion in Ruta Lasmane opened her season in stellar fashion. Each jump was at least 13.76 meters (45-1) and she ended with a final jump of 14.00m (45-11 ¼) for the No. 1 spot in the country and fourth in the world.

What to Watch For
It will be the first time this season we'll the distance debuts of Ernest Cheruiyot and Solomon Kipchoge as they are slated to go in the 3k. Both Red Raiders are coming off stellar cross country seasons which saw them go to the NCAA Championships.
