
Eight Red Raiders recognized on DCTF All-Texas Teams

David Bailey was tabbed the DCTF Midseason Defensive Player of the Year as the nation’s leader in sacks
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech had eight selections Tuesday to the Midseason All-Texas teams compiled by Dave Campbell's Texas Football, matching the most for any school in the Lone Star State.
The Red Raiders had five first team honorees by DCTF in running back Cameron Dickey, outside linebackers David Bailey and Romello Height, linebacker Jacob Rodriguez and defensive lineman Lee Hunter. Bailey, who shares the FBS lead with 8.5 sacks entering this weekend, was also tabbed the Midseason Defensive Player of the Year by the publication.
The list of second team honorees included tight end Terrance Carter Jr., offensive lineman Jacob Ponton and cornerback Brice Pollock. Texas Tech shared the FBS alongside Texas A&M high with eight total selections, while its five first team picks were the most in the state.
Texas Tech, ranked as high as No. 7 this week in the latest Associated Press poll, is off to its first 6-0 start since 2013 heading into a Saturday afternoon showdown at Arizona State. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT with coverage provided on FOX and the Texas Tech Sports Network.
