Red Raiders set for 2025 Big 12 Championships

The Friday meet will take place in Lawrence at the Rim Rock Farm
LUBBOCK, Texas – The men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the 2025 Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Lawrence, Kan., at the Rim Rock Farm Friday morning. The men's 8k race will begin at 8 a.m. while the women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m.

When it comes to the men's side, Titus Kimaru has been leading the way for Tech. In four meets this season, he's won three of them with the other meet being a 37th place finish at the Gans Creek Classic. He's been named the Big 12 Runner of the Week three times, the first Red Raider to accomplish such feat since Kennedy Kithuka back in 2013. He holds an 8k PB time of 22:36.1 which is also the fifth fastest 8k time in the country this season.
As far as the women's team goes, Lily Mather and newcomer Pauline Wanjiku are coming off PB runs in the final regular season meet. Mather crossed the end line with a 6k time of 20:04, while Wanjiku clocked in at 20:39.
Last season, the Tech men secured their best finish in program history coming in fourth place, scoring 101 points. The women matched their best team finish placing fifth with 155 points.
Following the Big 12 Championships, the Red Raiders will have the following week off before competing in the NCAA Mountain Regional in Salt Lake City on Friday, Nov. 14.
