Macy Blackburn tabbed Second Team All-American

The defender becomes the second (Janine Beckie) player in program history to earn three All-America honors
KANSAS CITY – A year after being named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association, defender Macy Blackburn has been named a Second Team All-American the United Soccer Coaches Association announced Friday.
A native of Keller, Blackburn closed her Texas Tech career as the programs all-time leader in both career assists (46) and single-season assists (13). A veteran of 77 games and 76 starts, Blackburn earned her third career All-American honor joining 2025 Texas Tech Hall of Famer Janine Beckie as the only two players in program history to earn three-straight All-America honors.
After a strong 2024 season in her return from a season-ending knee injury in the middle of the 2023 season, Blackburn put up a career year in 2025 recording a career-best five goals and the program-record 13 assists enroute to earning her second-consecutive Big 12 Defender of the Year honor. Blackburn became the fourth player in Big 12 history to repeat as the leagues Defender of the Year.
With her five goals and 13 assists, Blackburn closed her Red Raider career with 66 total points, the most by a defender and sixth-most by a player in school history.
Blackburn closed her career with 10 total goals and 46 assists. The 10th and final goal of her career was a second-half equalizer against UNC in the NCAA Round of 32 that propelled the Red Raiders into extra-time and eventually PKs against the Tar Heels.
Blackburn's All-America honor comes after the defender was named a First Team All-Midwest region selection earlier this week.
