Tech to play Baylor in first Big 12 road series of the season
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 12/14 Texas Tech (20-7, 2-1) will be back on the road this weekend against Baylor (12-14, 1-2) for the second Big 12 weekend of the season. The series will begin on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Getterman Stadium followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. start on Sunday to close the weekend.
The Red Raiders are coming off a big series win over Oklahoma State last weekend; their first series win over the Cowgirls since 2016. The Bears lost their series to Kansas last weekend and split their mid-week contests against Northwestern and Lamar.

- Tech earned its first series win over Oklahoma State since 2016. The Red Raiders jumped all over the Cowgirls in the first two games, beating them by a combined score of 11-0 over 12.0 innings. The Cowgirls got one back on Sunday thanks to a quick start, but the series was already secured. Â
- Bailey Lindemuth earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors for her impressive performance against the Cowgirls. She hit .625 with five hits including a two-run homer in game one to secure the run-rule victory in walk-off fashion. The freshman third baseman went 2-for- 3 with four RBI and two runs in Tech's 9-0 domination of Oklahoma State.
- Tech got its 11th and 12th shutout victories of the season and are now No. 1 in the country in that category. Chloe Riassetto and NiJaree Canady again combined to shut out the opponent's offense, throwing 12.0 shutout innings.
- Alexa Langeliers continues to find her rhythm in a Texas Tech uniform after a slow start to the season. Against the Cowgirls she batted .571 with four hits including a double and a home run. She also posted a 1.143 slugging percentage which led the team.
- The Bears lead the series 22-60 all time and have won 6 of the last 10 meetings.
- Baylor took the series 2-1 last season in Waco by a combined score of 16-8.
- This will be the first time since 2019 that Baylor is not ranked while Texas Tech is when they are facing off.
