
Graham snags fourth consecutive Top 20 finish

PALM CITY, Fla. – Freshman Connor Graham rallied in the final round of the Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational on Tuesday at Floridian National Golf Club to earn his fifth top 20 finish of his fiery young career and his fourth in a row.

Graham led the Red Raiders with a tie for 16th place among 92 in action at the Valspar with a 54-hole 5-under-par 208. His final round on Tuesday was one of two 2-under-par 69s carded by a Red Raider, although Graham's round was highlighted by being bogey-free with a pair of birdies on the par-71 course at Floridian National Golf Club. The freshman's final round marked his 10th in the 60s this season.
Joining Graham in low rounds of 2-under-par 69 shot on the final day was sophomore Ben Gregg. Gregg finished the event with back-to-back rounds in the 60s, bettering his season total of rounds in the 60s to eight. Six of those eight have come in the final round of six respective events this season. Gregg finished the Valspar Intercollegiate in a tie for 25th with a total score of 3-under-par 210.
Charles DeLong and Tim Wiedemeyer accounted for the Red Raiders' two additional countable scores in the final round. Wiedemeyer posted a 1-under-par 70 while DeLong had a 2-over-par 73. Wiedemeyer finished the Valspar Intercollegiate in a tie for 44th while DeLong finished tied for 76th.Â

As a team, Texas Tech backed up its second round 5-under-par 279 with a final round 3-under-par 281 but could not recover from its opening round 8-over-par 292. The Red Raiders finished the Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational in 14th out of 17 teams, recording a 54-hole even-par 852.

The Red Raiders will look to bounce back at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at the Forest Hills Golf Club, April 5-6, in Augusta, Ga.
