No. 19 Tech finishes Cabo Collegiate in sixth

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Freshman Connor Graham and sophomore Ben Gregg led the No. 19 Red Raiders in the third and final round of the Cabo Collegiate at the Twin Dolphin Club, both firing an even-par 71 on Tuesday.
The Red Raiders, who began the third round in fifth place behind a 2-under-par 284 round two on Monday, fell back one spot to finish sixth at the Cabo Collegiate. Coupled with the pair of even-par scores by Graham and Gregg, the Red Raiders counted Charlie DeLong's 2-over 73 and Calum Scott's 3-over 74 for their 5-over-par 289 final round.
In the 14-team field, Tech's 54-hole 14-over-par 866Â trailed tournament champion No. 3 Arizona State (-15), followed by No. 6 Oklahoma State (-9), No. 21 Florida State (E), Arkansas (+4) and Tennessee (+9).
Graham, who led the Red Raiders on Tuesday, also led the Red Raiders with their top individual finish for the tournament by earning a tie for 11th place (1-under-par 212). It marked the freshman's third top-20 finish this season in only six-stroke play starts.
Joining Graham in the top 20 was sophomore Tim Wiedemeyer. Wiedemeyer's three-round 2-over-par 215 saw him finish in a tie for 19th place giving the sophomore his second top 20 finish of the season and fourth of his career. He capped his three days at the Cabo Collegiate with a 3-over-par 74 in Tuesday's final round.
The three others in action – DeLong, Gregg and Scott – finished tied for 44th, all shooting 54-hole totals of 8-over-par (221). Scott's round on Tuesday was highlighted by acing the 212-yard, par-3, 14th hole of the Twin Dolphin Club.

Texas Tech will be back in action, March 17-18, at the Pauma Valley Invitational at the Pauma Valley Country Club in Southern California.
