McMillian, Williams to showcase skills

LUBBOCK – Chance McMillian and Darrion Williams are set to showcase their skills over the next week in Chicago with McMillian being invited to the NBA G League Elite Camp and Williams to the NBA Draft Combine.
The G League Elite Camp is a three-day event that begins on Friday at the Wintrust Arena, giving NBA Draft prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The athletes will participate separately in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills. A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later in the week based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp. The 2025 NBA Draft Combine takes place from May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis.
McMillian is coming off his fifth-year senior season at Texas Tech where he averaged 14.2 points per game and earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors. He led the Red Raiders by making 43.3 percent of his 3-point attempts, going 71-for-164 from deep in his final collegiate season. A Vallejo, California native, he played two seasons at Tech after playing his first three years at Grand Canyon. He finished his collegiate career with 1,467 points and was 245-for-600 (40.8 percent) from 3-point range. Williams earned All-Big 12 First Team honors as a junior at Texas Tech where he averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Williams finished the season scoring in double figures in five straight games, including scoring a season-high 28 points against Drake in the NCAA Second Round and going for 23 points against Florida in the Elite 8. Williams has produced 1,140 points, 674 rebounds , 295 assists and 128 steals through 100 collegiate games. A Sacramento, California native, he began his career at Nevada before transferring to Tech.
McMillian and Williams were both NABC Gulf All-District selections this season and helped lead the Red Raiders to the Elite 8.
The NBA Draft 2025 presented by State Farm will be held Wednesday, June 25 (First Round) and Thursday June 26 (Second Round) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
