Red Raiders get big win over Duke
September 03, 2025 | Women's Volleyball
ATHENS, Georgia – It was a tale of two sets early in the match as Duke took a commanding 1-0 lead and looked to be on its way to a sweep before the Red Raiders one-upped them with an even more dominating set to tie the match.
Addie Kanouff recorded a career-high 14 kills, 10 of which came in the fourth set, while hitting .440 and getting in on four blocks. Reagan Engler notched double-digit kills for the fourth straight match as she tied Kanouff's kill total for the team lead while also picking up her second double-double of the season as she added 12 digs.
Kalli Jioshvili Ravva had a breakout performance going for 11 kills while hitting an efficient .281 and added five digs and an ace.
Aliyah McDonald and Sierra Grizzle anchored the defense as McDonald recorded 7.0 blocks and Grizzle – the reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week – finished with a team-high 20 digs. McDonald added three kills and Grizzle dished six assists as they made an impact on the offensive side as well.
Peyton Dunn facilitated the offense after coming in in the second set. The graduate senior finished with 29 assists and got her hands on several parts of the game, adding three kills, three blocks and seven
digs.
Emily Contreras, Ashlyn Bellamy and Tatum Johnson made an impact on defense, combining for 21 digs led by Contreras with nine.

Set three started off hot for the Red Raiders, jumping out to an 8-4 lead that forced an early Duke timeout following back-to-back aces from Johnson. Duke got close, cutting the lead to just one before a quick 4-1 Tech run took the momentum back. Jioshvili Ravva and Engler combined for seven of the teams nine kills that set as the Red Raiders closed it out 25-17 to take a 2-1 lead.
The fourth set was anomaly for a match that featured decisive sets. There were 11 ties and three lead changes in a set that ended with a 28-26 Tech win. Kanouff took the set over recording a career-high 10 kills in the fourth set alone while hitting .692.
