Arizona up next for No. 21 Lady Raiders
January 02, 2026 | Women's Basketball
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 21 Texas Tech Lady Raiders continue Big 12 play with a game against the Arizona Wildcats at 6 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the United Supermarkets Arena. The all-time series between Tech and Arizona is tied 2-2, with the Wildcats winning the last game by a 66-57 score in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 25, 2025.
With their win against UCF, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders (15-0, 2-0 Big 12) tied for the best start in program history with the 2003-04 team, a team in which Coach Gerlich was the assistant coach. Tech's 2-0 start in conference play is also the best start in conference since the 2011-12 season. A win against Arizona would give the Lady Raiders a new best start to a season in program history.
Texas Tech has three players who average double-figure scoring in Snudda Collins (14.6ppg), Bailey Maupin (14.4ppg) and Jalynn Bristow (14.1ppg). Texas Tech is the only Big 12 school and one of five schools nationally to have three players average at least 14.0 points per game or better. These schools include South Carolina, NC State, UCLA, Murray State.
Collins is the only player in the nation who has come off the bench in every game her team has played so far this season and is also leading her team in points per game (14.6). The only other player this season to lead her team in scoring and come off the bench is East Carolina's Taylor Barner. However, she has only played in 13 of ECU's 14 games.
