Red Raiders complete Stan Scott Invite meet

Tech will hit the road for the first time this season traveling to Arkansas next weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas– The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up the Stan Scott Invite Friday afternoon inside the Sports Performance Center.

One of the more notable highlights came in the final hour of the meet as Evelyn Lavielle cleared a new lifetime best 1.90m (6-2 Âľ) in the high jump. She cleared each height leading up to it before bowing out on the next height of 1.93m (6-4). As of today, that clearance puts her No. 3 in the country.
Early on, freshman Kyzer Dunbar shined in the 600-yard with the top overall time of 1:08.84, putting him No. 10 all-time for Texas Tech in just his second race in the event. About an hour later, the duo of Titus Kimaru and Stephen Mutai (Red Raider debut) put on a stellar performance in the mile. Kimaru clocked in at 4:01.18, which is No. 5 all-time for Texas Tech, while Mutai clocked in at 4:02.99, No. 8 all-time for Tech. As they placed 1-2, Victor Kipkoech rounded out the top-3 with a time of 4:10.57.
Malachi Snow made his 2026 debut winning the 60m hurdles. In the first round, the sophomore went 7.58 before winning the finals at 7.55. On the women's side, Symoria Adkins placed second with a time of 8.23, just 0.01 off her PB. Siiri Siirtola finished third with a PB time of 8.37.
In the throws, Tori Adams won the weight throw with a mark of 16.74m (54-1 ÂĽ). When it came to the shot put, the Red Raiders went 2-3-4-5 led by McKenzie Davis who threw 14.15m (46-5 ÂĽ).
Towards the end of the meet, Lila Crowley claimed the 3k race with a PB time of 10:09.26 as Hannah Spears finished second (10:09.33).
Notables
·      A year removed from rupturing her achilles, Ruta Lasmane made her debut winning the triple jump with a mark of 12.96m (42-6 ¼).
·      Sean Gribble won the pole vault clearing 5.40m (17-8 ½). Sam Hurley took 2nd clearing 5.30m (17-4 ½).
·      Zaid Latif made his debut in the long jump going7.62m (25-0) as he placed 2nd.
·      Freshman Soumaila Sabo debuted with a win in the triple jump going 15.51m (50-10 ¾).
