Red Raiders take on Razorback Invite

This marks the first road meet for Tech this indoor season
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's and women's indoor track and field teams will compete in the Razorback Invite Friday and Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Rankings
In the first rankings of the indoor season released by the USTFCCCA Tuesday afternoon, the men came in ranked No. 4, while the women's team were dubbed No. 6. Including Tech, the Razorback Invite will feature six of the top-10 teams on the women's side and three of the top-10 over on the men's side.
Big 12 Athletes of the Week
Malachi Snow was the latest Red Raider and third overall in the last two weeks to be named the league's top weekly athlete. In his 2026 debut last weekend, Snow won the prelims and final of the 60m hurdles going 7.58 and 7.55, giving him the No. 3 time in the country – two places behind Antoine Andrews who holds the nation's best time.
The other two Red Raiders who have received the honor this year are Temitope Adeshina (high jump) and Jonathan Seremes (triple jump), who both lead the country in their respective events.
What to Know
With many experts around the country calling this a "mini national championship meet", it will be an early indicator of where the Red Raiders stand three weeks into the indoor season. Each aforementioned Big 12 Athlete of the Week is expected to go this weekend to keep their No. 1 mark/time in place. Several Red Raiders will open their season in the 200m, including All-American Shawn Brown.
Ruta Lasmane – the 2024 NCAA Indoor triple jump champion – made her debut last weekend coming off a ruptured achilles is slated to go in the triple jump along with Tamiah Washington, last season's national runner-up.
Both the men's and women's team will look to lower its 4x400 times in this meet. The men have a SB time of 3:02.02, while the women etched the school record two weeks ago with a time of 3:31.83. Andrews and Snow will double for the first time this year in the 60m hurdles and 60m sprint. Meanwhile, in the 800m, freshman Stephen Mutai will run the event for the first time in his career indoors as he holds a PB time of 1:46.95 outdoors.
