No. 22 Lady Raiders welcome Oregon, Sam Houston

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 22-ranked Texas Tech Lady Raiders are set to host the Oregon Ducks and the Sam Houston Bearkats for a doubleheader on Sunday at the McLeod Tennis Center. Tech will face the Ducks at 11:30 a.m., before playing the Kats at 3:30 p.m.
The Lady Raiders (3-1) are coming off a finals appearance at ITA Kickoff Weekend where they swept Long Beach State and fell in a tough match to No. 10 Oklahoma State. In dual singles so far, freshman Kseniia Logvin and senior Mariia Hlahola both lead the team with three wins. In dual doubles, the No. 75-ranked pair of Hailey Murphy and Yekaterina Dmitrichenko lead the way with a 3-1 record.
Oregon is 3-0 on the season with wins against Portland State, Idaho and New Mexico State, all in sweeps. The Ducks are led by Tilde Jagare and Olivia Symons with a 3-0 dual singles record. In dual doubles, the pairings of Hadley Appling and Avery Jennings as well as Jagare and Symons lead the Ducks with two wins each. The all-time series between Tech and Oregon is tied at 2-2, with the Lady Raiders winning in Eugene, Ore., last February by a 4-3 score.
Sam Houston comes into the match with an 0-3 overall record, dropping matches to No. 2 Texas A&M, Lamar and McNeese. So far, only Anamaria Kurtsikashvili and Nayuma Subba have a dual singles win. Texas Tech leads the all-time series over Sam Houston with a 3-0 record. The Lady Raiders last defeated the Kats by a 7-0 score on Feb. 20, 2004.
