TEAM
โข Texas Tech is 6-0 for the second consecutive season. The Red Raiders are one of two FBS teams to begin both the 2025 and 2026 seasons 6-0 (Indiana). Pending Saturday night's result between Notre Dame and BYU, the Cougars could join them as the third team to start back-to-back 6-0 seasons at 6-0 overall.
โข It is the eighth time in program history Texas Tech has started a season 6-0: 1938, 1976, 1998, 2005, 2008, 2013, 2025 and 2026.
โข Texas Tech extended its home winning streak to 12 games, having not lost at Galaxy Stadium since Nov. 9, 2024, against Colorado.
โข The 12-game winning streak matches the second-longest home winning streak in program history, last accomplished during the 2007-09 seasons.
โข The Red Raiders will attempt to match the program's all-time home winning streak record in their next home game Oct. 31 against Arizona. The record was established during the World War II era and spanned the 1939-42 seasons.
โข Joey McGuire improved to 26-5 (83.9%) in his career in home games.
โข The Red Raiders have now started Big 12 play 3-0 for the third time in the McGuire era. It marks three consecutive seasons accomplishing the feat under McGuire and the seventh occurrence in program history (1998, 2005, 2008, 2013, 2024-26).
โข Texas Tech took a 4-3 lead in the all-time series versus Arizona State with Saturday's win. The two teams have now met in three straight seasons, with the home team winning each matchup since the Sun Devils joined the Big 12.
โข Texas Tech led 21-7 after the first quarter. It was the Red Raiders' most points scored in an opening quarter since taking an early 21-0 lead at West Virginia last season on Nov. 29, 2025.ย
โข Texas Tech amassed 404 yards of total offense in the first half. It was the most first-half yardage since 2016 and the sixth time since 2012 the Red Raiders recorded more than 400 yards of offense in theย first half.

โข Texas Tech scored 43 points in the opening half, its most since scoring 48 points in the first two quarters against Kent State on Sept. 6, 2025. It was the most points the Red Raiders have scored in the first half of a Big 12 game since scoring 49 against Baylor on Oct. 27, 2001.

THE OFFENSE
โข The Red Raiders are one of four FBS teams to have scored at least 28 points in every game this season. They have scored at least 22 points in 22 consecutive games against conference opponents, the longest active streak among FBS teams.
โข Arizona State was one of Will Hammond's two starts in 2025 and accounted for his only loss, leaving him 1-1 as a starter that season. He improved to 7-2 in his career as a starting quarterback after avenging last year's loss in his first rematch against an opponent.
โข Hammond finished with 232 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. It marked his second consecutive game without an interception. His last interception came in the first half against Sam Houston on Sept. 26.
โข Hammond rushed for his second touchdown of the season, a 9-yard score, with 5:12 left in the first quarter. It was the ninth rushing touchdown of his career.
โข J'Koby Williams broke free for a 62-yard touchdown on the first play of the Red Raiders' third drive. It was the longest rush by a Red Raider this season and the longest of Williams' career, surpassing his 54-yard carry in the 2024 Liberty Bowl.
โข Williams eclipsed his single-game career high for rushing yards in the first half, totaling 141 yards on nine carries (15.7 yards per carry). He finished with 165 rushing yards on 11 carries (15.0 yards per carry). His previous career high was 135 yards against Kansas State in 2025.
โข Kenny Johnson recorded six receptions for 113 yards in the first half. He finished with seven receptions for a career-high 120 receiving yards. Johnson surpassed the 115 yards he totaled while a member of the Pitt football team versus Boston College in 2025.
โข Terrance Carter Jr. recorded his first career rushing touchdown Saturday, lining up as the wildcat quarterback on second-and-goal from the 1-yard line with 9:28 left in the game.

THE DEFENSE
โข Texas Tech recorded six sacks Saturday, its most since recording nine against Kansas in 2025 โ also the sixth game of the season in 2025. The Red Raiders had 21 sacks through the first six games of 2025 and 17 through the first six games of 2026.
โข Ben Roberts returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown to give the Red Raiders their opening score in the first quarter (7:48). It was his first interception of 2026 and the sixth of his career. It was the first career touchdown for the fifth-year senior linebacker.
โข Roberts was involved in the next defensive stop on the ensuing drive, making a tackle for a 1-yard loss on fourth-and-1 from the ASU 34-yard line. The stop resulted in a turnover on downs, giving Texas Tech possession at the ASU 33 with 5:38 left in the first quarter. The Red Raiders needed just two plays to score, extending their lead to 14-0 with 5:12 left in the opening quarter. It was one of the Red Raiders' nine tackles for loss on Saturday, matching a season-high (Sam Houston).
โข Texas Tech scored on defense for the fourth time this season and the 10th time since 2024. The Red Raiders entered Saturday's game tied for second in the nation with three defensive touchdowns.
โข Roberts recorded Texas Tech's fourth interception return for a touchdown this season. That is the most by a Big 12 program since Oklahoma also recorded four pick-sixes in 2023, its final season in the conference. He joined fellow linebackers Austin Romaine's two interceptions returned for touchdowns and John Curry's Pick-6.
โข Arizona State's Reed Harris entered Saturday ranked fourth in the FBS with 11 explosive plays. The Red Raiders limited him to zero explosive plays.
โข Arizona State's three touchdowns were all through the air as Texas Tech remains the only FBS program in the country to not give up a rushing touchdown this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS
โข Stone Harrington was 4-for-5 on field goals Saturday, connecting from 31 yards (second quarter), 42 yards (second quarter), 37 yards (second quarter) and 34 yards (fourth quarter). He missed a 36-yard try in the fourth, which was his fifth attempt.ย
โขย Saturdayย was the fourth time in Harrington's career he had made four or more field goals in a game. He is just the fifth Big 12 kicker in league history to have four or more games with at least four field goals, joining the likes of Alex Henery (Nebraska), Mason Crosby (Colorado), Jaden Oberkrom (TCU) and Gabe Brkic (Oklahoma).
โข Will Karoll did not attempt his first punt until the third quarter. His 65-yard kick was downed at the 1-yard line by Bryson Jones. It was Karoll's fifth punt of at least 60 yards this season and two yards short of his season high.
