The honor by the USTFCCCA is the first of his career
NEW ORLEANS – Junior sprinter and hurdler Malachi Snow was named the USTFCCCA Men's Division I National Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Snow, who collects the honor for the first time in his career, is coming off a stellar performance at the 2026 Big 12 Indoor Championships. The junior won the 60m sprint and 60m hurdles en route to being named the meet's High Point Performer (20 points).
His time of 6.46 in the 60m is the second-fastest time in NCAA history and puts him as the fifth-fastest performer in the event. Meanwhile, his time of 7.43 in the 60m hurdles gives him the ninth-fastest time in NCAA history. He did all this within 20 minutes this past weekend, completing the hurdles first, followed by the 60m.
He will head into the NCAA Indoor Championships next weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., as the No. 2-ranked sprinter and hurdler. Snow is the fifth Red Raider to garner the weekly national indoor honor and first since Temitope Adeshina in 2024.
