2019-20 SEASON: Transfer Redshirt
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH: Ntambwe transferred to Tech after averaging 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds during his freshman season at UNLV. He started all 31 games for the Runnin’ Rebels and would also add 11 blocks and 16 steals. Ntambwe scored in double figures in 16 games, including a career-high 31 points against Wyoming where he was 11-for-17 from the field and also had 10 rebounds. He finished the season with four double-doubles and had a season-best 15 rebounds in a 21-point effort against Indiana State. Ntambwe played high school basketball at Aspire Academy in Louisville, Kentucky where he averaged 13.3 points per game as a senior. A 2018 graduate, he averaged 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game after spending four years at Forest Trail Academy in Kernersville, North Carolina, where he averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game as a junior in 2016-17… Played for the Nike New York Rens U17 club team.
PERSONAL: Son of Didier Kumingua and Brigitte Kapinga. Has three siblings, Jonathan, Alex and Florx. Chose Texas Tech over Nebraska, UConn, Arkansas, Auburn and TCU… Signed with Texas Tech as a transfer on May 24, 2019.
