FRESHMAN SEASON (2019-20)
Tchewa played in 23 games averaging 1.7 points and 0.9 rebounds per game in his first season with the Red Raiders… He scored a career-high six points in three games, first in the season opener against Eastern Illinois and then against Long Island in non-conference play before matching it with six points at home against TCU in Big 12 action where he was 3-for-4 from the field and also contributed three rebounds… Tchewa finished the season with seven blocked shots spaced out over seven games and was 17-for-34 (50 percent) from the field… He averaged 5.0 minutes played per game in a freshman season that ended with him scoring three points and having two rebounds against No. 1 Kansas… Tchewa played in 23 games with one start coming at No. 4 Baylor in the final week of the season.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH: Played at Putnam Science Academy… Tchewa played three years of prep basketball in Italy… Played for Grissin bon Reggio Emilia… Scored a career-high 30 points in a win over Virtus Bologna… Helped to lead his team to the semifinals of conference championship tournament in prep school… Played in the Adidas Next Generation tournament, made Final Four in Belgrade… Averaged 13.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game… Shot 64 percent from the field in the tournament.
