Ray Caldwell

Ray Caldwell enters his second season as assistant coach for Texas Tech Women’s Basketball. Caldwell joined the staff as an assistant coach on Aug. 3, 2015.
In his eight-year tenure coaching various levels of basketball, Caldwell has coached 18 NCAA Division-I men’s and women’s basketball players, and trained eight professionals currently playing overseas. He has also worked with three McDonalds All-Americans.
During that time, Caldwell also worked with various teams, facilities, NCAA certification departments and scouting services to organize approved tournaments on a yearly basis.
Since 2007, Caldwell has been a lead trainer and head coach at SA Finest Basketball, in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, where he formulated and implemented individual skill set developmental programs for hundreds of student-athletes and professional players.
Caldwell attended San Jacinto Junior College and Chapman University, and is currently progressing toward a degree from Northern Arizona University. He and his wife, Alba, have two daughters—Recee’ and Desiree.
