Channing Cunyus joined Texas Tech and Lady Raider Basketball back in June of 2022. A former standout at nearby Lubbock Christian, Cunyus played in 108 games during her four years at LCU, making 35 starts. The Canyon native was a two-time Lone Star Conference Academic List selection and won a pair of NCAA D-II National Championships (2018-19, 2020-21). Throughout her time with the Lady Chaps went 111-15 including a perfect 23-0 record in 2020-21. During her senior season, Cunyus appeared and started in all 35 scoring 280 points on the year. On Jan. 29, the Canyon native scored a career-best 24 points on 6-of-8 shooting from distance. A TGCA Class 5A All-State selection, Cunyus won a pair of UIL State Championships for Canyon High School.
