Men's Tennis Sweeps No. 55 Purdue

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 23 Texas Tech men's tennis team swept No. 55 Purdue, 7-0, in Malibu, Cali. this afternoon. The Red Raiders are off to the best start in Tech's history, at 15-0.
The Red Raiders gained the doubles point after winning two of the three doubles matches. At number one, Radek Nijaki and Bojan Szumanski defeated Paul Rose and John Robison, 8-4. Teddy DiBlasi and Michael Innerebner fell to Philip Koziell and Sonok Chatterjee in the second slot, 8-2. In the last position, Adrian Prpic and Jakob Paulsen teamed up to beat Scott Warner and Chris Foster, 8-5.
Tech went undefeated in singles action winning all six matches. Radek Nijaki beat Paul Rose, 6-2, 6-2 in the number one spot. At position two, Bojan Szumanski handled Philip Koziell, 6-2, 6-0. In the third slot, Jakob Paulsen fought through beating Sonok Chatterjee, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2. Michael Innerebner came out on top at number four, defeating Jarod Leibner, 7-6, 6-4. In the fifth position, Adrian Prpic beat Matt Zolleman, 6-2, 6-2 and in the last spot, Dimitrio Martinez defeated Scott Warner, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
"This was a tough adjustment for the team. This was our first match in eleven days and have not played outside for the last few matches," said head coach Tim Siegel. "It took a little while to adjust to the adversity, but overall it was a good performance."
The Red Raiders will be back in action again on Sunday to face Fresno State and again on Monday to compete against Clemson.
