
Coley, Harris Earn All-American Honors on Day One

Fayetteville, Ark. - Texas Tech track and field athletes completed day one of competition at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, at the Tyson Track Center, in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday.
Shawon Harris finished sixth in the finals of the 60M hurdles with a clocking of 7.86. This is the first All-American honor of Harris' career. The Abilene native clocked a new school-record time of 7.76 in the prelims for the fifth-fastest qualifying time.
Misty Coley cleared 5'-9.25" in the high jump, good for a 10th-place finish. Coley was awarded All-American honors due to international athletes finishing in the top eight. Her season-best mark will stand at 5'-11.25".
Zach Glavash clocked a 1:49.45 in the prelims of the 800M and was the fastest non-automatic qualifying time for the finals. The fastest qualifying time out of the prelims was a 1:49.17, run by Dominic Tanui of UTEP. The finals of the event will be run at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday.
In the long jump, Tori Polk finished 12th with a leap of 20'-1.75". Her season-best and school-record will stay at 21'-2.75".
In the pole vault, Sage Thames finished 12th with a clearance of 17'-6.5" and Bobby Most finished 14th with a height of 17'-0.75".
In the prelims of the 60M hurdles, Daryl Burgess clocked a 7.88 and finished in 13th place. His season best time will be 7.77, set in the finals of the event at the Big 12 Championships.
