Texas Tech Cross Country Travels West to Santa Clara Bronco Invitational

The Red Raiders head to California to compete in their final meet before the Big 12 Championships
LUBBOCK, Texas – Tomorrow marks the fifth meet of the year for Texas Tech cross country this season and the final polish for the Red Raiders before they compete in the Big 12 Championships in two weeks.
The 2016 Broncos Invitational will consist of an 8k distance for the men and a 6k distance for the women. Of the 900 entries for the race, 20 Red Raiders will be competing.
Two weeks ago at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., junior Miguel Bautista (23:38.02) and senior Jocelyn Caro (22:13.50) paved the way for the Red Raiders sporting third and seventh place finishes.
Running for the men: junior Miguel Bautista, redshirt junior Clark Blunt, freshman Nathan Gift, senior Benard Keter, junior Todd Mickey, senior Nick Rivera, freshman Eduardo Trevizo, freshman Shea Whatley, junior Ebenether Wondaferew and sophomore Joacim Zuniga.
Running for the women: sophomore Kaylee Amershek, senior Jocelyn Caro, freshman Denae Chapman, freshman Jessica Gallardo, junior Lynda Hanson, senior Maggy Mulholland, freshman Bret Leigh Nance, sophomore Hattie Schunk and junior Jasmine Torres.
The men's race begins at 9 a.m. with the women's following at 9:45 a.m.
The Big 12 Championships are to follow on home turf for Texas Tech at the Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock on Saturday, Oct. 29.
