Texas Tech Cross Country Hits the Road for NCAA Mountain Region Championships

Friday marks the 20th Mountain Regional appearance for the Red Raiders since 1997

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Cross Country heads west to Logan, Utah to compete in the NCAA Mountain Regional hosted by Utah State on Friday, November 11 with the women's 6k at noon CT and men's 10k following an hour later.

Texas Tech enters the Mountain Region Championship coming off of a strong showing at the Big 12 Championship where three Red Raiders earned All-Big 12 honors. Two of these honors were first and second place finishes from senior Benard Keter and junior Miguel Bautista. Senior Jocelyn Caro was the third All-Big 12 recipient, finishing 10^th overall.

Kennedy Kithuka was the last Red Raider to secure the Mountain Region individual title on the men's side as he claimed the championship over two-consecutive years in 2012 and 2013. The women's team, however, secured a team Mountain Region Champion title in 2008 finishing with an impressive 42 points.
