The Red Raiders had strong performances across the board on the men's side, finishing just one point away from third-place at this year's Big 12 Indoor Championships at 97.5 points. It was the most points scored at the indoor meet by head coach Wes Kittley's crew in his 17 years at Texas Tech. Several Red Raiders finished runner-up or top three in their individual events.
Trey Culver and Bradley Adkins went 2-3 in the high jump after each clearing 2.19m/7-2.25. C.J. Jones and Vincent Crisp finished second and fourth in the 800 meters with times of 1:49.29 and 1:50.03 (PR), respectively. In the 600-yard run, Alex Foster recorded a third-place finish with a personal-best of 1:10.79.
Kyle Thompson and Brandon Bray earned second and fourth in the pole vault, with Thompson topping off at 5.34m/17-6.25. Tech also had three in the top seven of the open 400 meters, with Kyle Collins leading the way in third at 46.24 seconds. His time put him at No. 12 in the NCAA this season and was the fourth-fastest time in school history.
The Red Raiders look to add more gold to the trophy case on March 11-12 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
