2018 OUTDOOR
High jumped in six meets … began year with second-place finish at Texas Relays … first win came at the Michael Johnson Invite thanks to a leap of 2.21m/7’-3” … finished second at the Texas Tech Corky/Crofoot Shootout … scored eight points for Tech at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a season-best mark 2.25m/7’-4.5” … won the high jump at the NCAA West Preliminary with a 2.16m/7’-1” … finished fourth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a 2.21m/7’-3”.
2018 INDOOR
Jumped in four meets … started season with a win in the Corky Classic thanks to a career-best 2.33m/7’-7.75” … recorded a 2.30m/7’-6.5” at the Texas Tech Classic to finish second … won the high jump at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a 2.31m/7’-7” … finished second at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a 2.29m/7’-6”.
2017 OUTDOOR
Culver claimed a silver medal at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships in his third trip to Eugene, after clearing 2.21m/7-3 for second team All-America honors ... this advancement to nationals came off of a 2.18m/7-1.75 qualifying mark at the west preliminaries ... Culver entered the prelims with a 2.24m/5-4.25 season-best from Texas Relays, which earned first-place in Austin and the No. 10 spot in Texas Tech all-time marks ... this bar left Culver with the No. 4 nationally ranked finish ... Culver also snagged the Big 12 Championship title for the second year in a row, finishing at a 2.16m/7-1 bar ... this high jump title notched Tech's fifth overall high jump conference crown ... took four No. 1 finishes during his outdoor campaign ... finished the year by wrangling the title of USTFCCCA Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, marking the first time in Texas Tech history that a student-athlete has earned the accolade ... a member of the 2017 Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
2017 INDOOR
Claimed the program's 5th national high jump title in College Station on March 11 ... Culver's win was marked the first time in NCAA history that a team has claimed three-consecutive indoor high jump titles, this with his personal-best 2.26m/7-5 bar ... this height ranks 5th in the Texas Tech All-Time marks ... entered the championships off of his No. 5 nationally ranked height of 2.23m/7-3.75 from the New Mexico Classic where he took a second-place finish ... had a silver-medal finish at the Big 12 Indoor Championship in Ames, Iowa, where he finished at a height of 2.21m/7-3 ... kicked off the indoor season with the same height of 2.21m/7-3 at the Arkansas Invitational for first overall.
2016 OUTDOOR
Finished fifth at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump after clearing 2.19m/7-2.25, earning first team All-America honors ... cleared 2.16m/7-1 to advance to his second-straight outdoor meet ... fourth-straight year two Red Raiders have qualified ... entered the NCAA West Preliminaries with a mark of 2.26m/7-5 in the men's high jump, which lead the field ... the clearance came at the Texas Relays on April 2 in the "A" section of the event ... the mark took over the NCAA lead as well, which he held until after the conference meet ... it also ranked as the fifth-best jump in school history ... at the Big 12 Championships, he notched Texas Tech's fourth overall high jump conference crown and third-straight after clearing 2.23m/7-3.75 ... he and Bradley Adkins gave Tech its third-straight 1-2 finish in the event at the outdoor meet ... he's only been beat once this season by another D-I athlete, his teammate Adkins, at the Michael Johnson Invitational ... he's posted three-straight event wins, clearing 7'-3" or higher in all three of those, with the most recent at the conference meet on May 15 ... was also named to the 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Second Team.
2016 INDOOR
Captured the program's 15 NCAA title and third in the men's high jump on March 11 in Birmingham ... he was the only competitor to clear 2.23m/7-3.75, which was a personal-best ... his win made Texas Tech the only school in history to win back-to-back men's NCAA indoor high jump titles with different athletes ... it was also the 10th-best clearance in school history ... he competed in five meets during the indoor season and set a new PR or matched that PR in all five of those meets ... opened the season with a victory at the Arkansas Invitational with a clearance of 2.18m/7-1.75 ... matched it two weeks later at the New Mexico Team Invitational en route to a second-place finish ... placed seventh in an elite field of high jumpers at the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 13, but would leave with a new best of 2.19m/7-2.25 ... tied it again at the conference meet, earning silver in the competition.
2015 OUTDOOR
Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team ... began the outdoor slate with a first-place finish at the UTSA Challenge, clearing the bar at 2.10m/6-10.75 ... would notch another win under his belt at the Wes Kittley Invite at 2.06m/6-9.0 ... added three more top three finishes throughout the season, including a second-place mark at the Texas Relays at 2.14m/7-0.25 ... came one spot short again of earning All-Big 12 accolades after a ninth-place finish at the outdoor conference meet ... represented Texas Tech at the NCAA West Preliminaries, where he set a seasonal-best of 2.20m/7-2.50, qualifying for the NCAA Championships at the 12th spot ... earned Second Team All-America honors after finishing 11th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after clearing a height of 2.16m/7-1 to cap off a strong freshman season.
2015 INDOOR
Competed in six meets for the Red Raiders during his first collegiate indoor season ... recorded three top five finishes, including a third-place mark of 2.11m/6-11.0 at the Texas Tech Open ... that mark would be a seasonal-best that would be matched a week later at the Texas A&M Quadrangular ... just missed out on All-Big 12 performer honors after finishing ninth at the conference meet at 2.07m/6-9.50.
