Cory Raley drove in Texas Tech's only run with a RBI single in the fourth inning Tuesday night as the Red Raiders fell to No. 5 Florida State, 10-1.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Red Raiders (20-9), who are now 5-3 in midweek games this season. Tech entered its first-ever meeting with Florida State (20-6) following wins in nine of its last 10 games.
Cory Raley plated Tech's only run with a RBI single in the fourth inning as he scored Tanner Gardner with a liner to center field. Gardner opened Tech's two-out rally with a double to right field which marked the 20th-consecutive game where he has reached base safely.
The Florida State bullpen limited the Red Raiders from there, however, as Tech totaled just two hits off the four Seminoles who entered in relief of starter Drew Carton. The Seminoles combined for 10 strikeouts and did not allow a walk until Anthony Lyons drew a four-pitch walk to lead off the ninth inning.
Raley's RBI single tied the game briefly in the fourth before Florida State retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning on a Tech fielding error. The Seminoles scored at least one run in each of the final five innings, including a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Quincy Nieporte broke open a one-run game in the fifth inning off a two-run homer to left field. The home run, Nieporte's first of the season, ended Erikson Lanning's (1-3) night as the freshman suffered the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) off six hits and four strikeouts.
Jim Voyles (3-0) picked up the win for the Seminoles after tossing 1.2 shutout innings as the first reliever out of the bullpen. Tech's two hits late in the game came off a Tyler Floyd leadoff single in the sixth and a Hunter Hargrove pinch-hit single in the eighth.
The Red Raiders close the midweek series against the Seminoles with a 5 p.m. CT first pitch Wednesday night. The game will air live on ESPN3.com.
