Lady Raiders Throw it Back at the Coliseum Sunday

Texas Tech hosts UT-Rio Grande Valley in the Throwback Game Sunday at 2 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the first time since the 1998-99 season, Lady Raider Basketball returns to the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum for the Throwback game this Sunday at 2 p.m.

"We are very excited to return to the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum," Head Coach Candi Whitaker said. "The history and tradition of our program is rooted in the Coliseum and to have a game that honors all the players that contributed to that foundation as well as Coach Sharp and the legacy she built is very special."

This season marks the 25th anniversary of the 1993 National Championship and the Lady Raiders will be sporting throwback uniforms to honor all former Lady Raiders.

The Lubbock Municipal Coliseum served as Texas Tech's home court for 22 seasons. During that span, the Lady Raiders captured five Southwest Conference regular season championships, three Southwest Conference tournament championships, the first Big 12 regular season and tournament championships since joining the new conference and Texas Tech's first and only NCAA National Championship.

The Lady Raiders posted a 33-home game win streak from 1994-1997 inside the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum including two undefeated seasons at home (1993-94 & 1995-96).

The Lady Raiders snapped a four-game skid as they defeated Prairie View A&M, 89-60, on Wednesday. The Contest was highlighted by a 33-point third quarter, tying the school record for most points in a quarter.

The Vaqueros enter the match up off an 82-54 loss to Wisconsin. Despite the loss, UTRGV had two players in double figures led by junior guard Quynne Huggins.

GIVEAWAYS
The first 1,000 fans into the coliseum on Sunday will receive a free 1993 National Champions replica t-shirt. The first 1,500 fans will receive a National Championship poster.

TICKETS
Fans can purchase reserved tickets to Sunday's game for $10 online at TexasTech.com. General admission seating can be purchased for $5.

PARKING
Parking at the Coliseum is on a first come, first serve basis. ADA parking is available on the East side of the building.
