Women’s Tennis Tops Wichita State, 4-2

Lady Raiders continue road swing at Kansas State on Friday
WICHITA, Kan. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team captured their third straight win with a 4-2 victory over Wichita State on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Raiders improved to 10-3 on the season while the Shockers fell to 5-7.
Doubles duo Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba opened the match with a 6-1 win over Tanaporn Thongsing and Ting-Ya Hsu. The Shockers tied up the doubles action with a 7-5 win on court one over Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak.
Alba Cortina-Pou and Alex Valenstein clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court three, marking their sixth straight win.
Maltby pushed the Lady Raiders to a 2-0 lead with two quick sets (6-1, 6-1) over WSU's Gabriela Porubin. Wichita State tied the match at 2-2 with back-to-back wins on courts three and four. Thongsing defeated Valenstein in straight sets just before Sarah Dvorak fell 6-1, 6-2 to Fatima Bizhukova on court four.
The Lady Raiders regained the 3-2 lead with a two-set win by Talaba on court one. She defeated #117 Giulia Guidetti, 6-2, 6-2. Junior Katelyn Jackson sealed the win with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court six over Marija Mastilovic.
