Red Raiders to Face Cowgirls in Stillwater

Texas Tech heads back to Oklahoma to face off with No. 21 Oklahoma State.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech heads to Oklahoma for the second straight weekend set for a matchup with the 21st-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls. The match will be the only one for the Red Raiders in week three of Big 12 action.
The trip comes after picking up one point towards the conference standings last weekend. Tech tied with Oklahoma in Norman before dropping a 2-0 decision to Baylor at home. Though fruitless in goals, the weekend was not one without chances to score, according to head coach Tom Stone.
"We're not just getting chances, but clean, clear chances," Stone said. "At some point, that wall has to come off the goal, and when it does you usually explode. That's what we're hoping for and that's what we're working on this week."
The Friday night matchup with the Cowgirls will provide the Red Raiders the opportunity to begin their three-week, four-game road trip on a winning note. The Cowgirls will be the first ranked opponent Tech has faced since toppling No. 18 Pepperdine in August. The Red Raiders have not beaten OSU since 2012, and the program's only win in Stillwater came in 1997.
First touch Friday night is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Network.
