Texas Tech begins the two-day Entrada Classic Monday morning in St. George, Utah

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech women's golf team will be able to gaze at the Utah mountain ranges Monday morning when the Red Raiders open Spring Break with the Entrada Classic hosted by BYU.

The two-day tournament, which will take place at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah, features a 54-hole format with the opening two rounds being played Monday followed by a final 18 holes Tuesday.

The Red Raiders will be one of 14 teams in the field as Tech is joined by No. 18 Kent State as well as No. 26 North Carolina, No. 48 BYU and No. 49 SMU. Tech is currently ranked 51st nationally in the latest Golfstat computer poll.

Tech head coach JoJo Robertson will utilize the same lineup as the Red Raiders' previous two tournaments this spring as seniors Gabby Barker and Lauren Mason will be joined by junior Mami Yamamoto and freshmen Amy Taylor and Louisa Brunt.

The Red Raiders are coming off a rain-shortened showing at the Dickson Invitational just a few weeks ago where Tech finished tied for 11th in an abbreviated 18-hole format. Barker led Tech over the single round with an even-par card that placed her in a tie for 14th individually.

Barker and Mason currently boast the lowest stroke averages on the team with similar 73.7 clips heading into this week. Yamamoto follows narrowly behind with a 73.9 average of her own, while Taylor and Brunt are averaging 74.8 and 76.6 strokes per round, respectively.

Tech is slated for a 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun start Monday morning with the second round to follow later that afternoon. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at www.Golfstat.com.
